A well defined data management approach, leading to a situation where the right information is brought to the right person or system at the right time, will dramatically contribute to improving the overall company performance thanks to:
- A better alignment of the enterprise data architecture with the business processes and business organisation
- A better control of the operational risks
- A higher responsiveness and agility in the execution of the business processes
- An improved ability to let the organisation evolve
- A faster identification of growth opportunities
- A stricter compliance with regulatory requirements
In the context of Data Management, both the operational and analytical systems and processes are considered, as well as the related organisation.
In light of this, we have developed our own Data Management framework and methodology in order to help our customers to:
- Translate the operational data requirements into comprehensive Data Architecture Map to identify the needed improvements and translate them into an actionable Data Management Program.
- Define and manage Reference and Master Data.
- Identify the Data Quality issues, assess the impact and define an overall quality improvement program and architecture.
- Define the corporate or departmental Business Dictionary and draw the connections to the Data Architecture Map.
- Define the right Data Governance and Processes to ensure data is properly managed, stored, secured and propagated into the organisation.
At Athelia, we have developed our own methodology, based on existing frameworks (DAMA DMBOK, TOGAF, ZACHMAN) to effectively define and organize these processes and establish the long-term Data Governance approach.
We work in close partnership with a number of specialized experts when it comes down to particular aspects such as industry-specific regulations.
